Naghib Shanbehzadeh and Muzaffar Rehman
From Persia to India – the Zarb to the Tabla

Naghib Shanbehzadeh, a highly skilled percussionist hailing from Iran, embarked on his musical journey in Bushehr and Kish at the tender age of 3, under the guidance of his father. Saeid Shanbehzadeh . His early training involved the traditional percussion instruments from the south of Iran, including the dammâm, doholgap, pipè, and kesser, alongside classical ones such as the zarb.

Together with Mustafa Rehman Ensemble and the finest percussion instruments of Rajasthan including beatbox, morchang, kartala, dholha, dhol, tabla he will lead towards a magical rhythmic journey.

Over the years, Naghib has had the privilege of collaborating with renowned musicians like Billy Cobham, Manu Codja, and Matthieu Donarier. He is an integral member of the Shanbehzadeh Ensemble, renowned for their traditional Iranian music and contemporary electronic elements.
